CCCPB Christian Education for Youth
We provide our young people with a place to learn about how to be compassionate and contributing members of the human family. They have opportunities to directly affect the world at large through fund raisers and other activities.
For the Youngest
CCCPB has a nursery with a crib to accommodate the needs of our youngest members. It should also here be noted that youngsters are welcome to accompany their parents for services in the sanctuary. However, a nursery attendant is always available during service hours -- if you don’t see one in the nursery, please ask!
Our nursery also serves as a play area for our toddlers and pre-kindergarteners. It is stocked with many books, blocks, Legos, plush toys, play figures, play dough, and more.
The Junior Reflection
The Junior Reflection is a child-sized but no less potent reflection that is often provoked by the questions our kids raise.
Following the weekly Junior Reflection in the sanctuary, the children go downstairs to enjoy Sunday school with a vibrant and caring staff. Our Sunday school uses the UCC Bible Quest multi-age curriculum series. This series covers a variety of bible stories and uses a thematic approach to connect week-to-week lessons. Sunday School teachers have a variety of art, music, and thinking activities to draw from for each lesson.
For the past several years our Sunday school students and friends have raised money which is sent to Heifer International, an organization that provides animals to families in underdeveloped countries so that they may conquer hunger and provide for a sustainable future.
Easter Egg Hunt
Each Easter our Sunday school students and friends take part in an Easter egg hunt on the church’s lawn.
A long-standing tradition at CCCPB is the Baccalaureate service designed to honor graduating high school students. Shortly before graduation our pastor works with the high school senior(s) to design a service especially for them. Graduates often pick the worship music for this event. Rev. Lawritson is gifted at crafting a message encouraging and encompassing the individuality of each graduate. A brief graduation party in honor of the graduate(s) traditionally follows this service.
